About Me
All about my past and present.
What would be an answer if I had to choose 3 words to describe my life story? Sport, workshop, people.
These 3 words represent different phases of my life and are now coming together as one. Let me describe them in the following paragraphs.
Early youth
How it all started
Up to secondary school there was nothing more imortant than football. Like many others I thought this would be my job. Luckily I also kept my focus on school and later even prioritize math and physics competitons over football matches. Nevertheless I quit football later I still love to play it nowadays. I also believe many days of training benefited me in terms of forming my persistant and decisive character.
Family company and the start of my own business
As long as I remember my parents own a company along with the workshop producing tailor made furniture and other wooden products. Spending whole days in a workshop was a ritual for my parents and soon also a “playground” for me and my sister. Driving the dowels into the particleboard often reffered as a “game” (by my parents) was soon subtituted for independent summer projects. Those usually stayed unfinished due to unlimited imagination while making a plan.
However, not everything stayed unfinished. At the beginning of secondary school I sold my first product – wooden gymnastic rings. That was a period of puberty when gaining muscles was priority number 1 and this encouraged me to countinue with developing new products. After signing at university I also actively started working for family company and at the same time made a webshop with new products coming on montly basis. University
From an early age it was clear that I am interested in woodworking therefore it was not a hard decision for me to sign in Wood science and technology progam at Universitiy of Ljubljana. Although science knowledge is important to me, I am aware that command of foreign languages and ability to connect with other people add up to person’s universality. Therefore I decided to spend 2 semesters abroad as an exchange student, firstly in Austria and secondly in Germany. I believe this whole diverse study process shaped me in a different way and I can say I always try to look at things from various pespectives.
hobbys
Sport is always good for physical and mental health. Nothing professional, nothing extreme. Only to enjoy myself and to sleep well at night. But what kind of sport? Well, depends on a season but one thing is for sure – mountains! Slovenia is a great place to visit mountains and even as a local I never have enough of them. Hiking in summer and autumn and ski touring in winter and spring.
As of other sports I like to play football (logically), tennis, volleyball, badbinton or sometimes just a ride with my road bike.
